Meanwhile, neurosurgery is projected to record a 17.5% CAGR through 2035 as robotic positioning and image-guided technologies expand their clinical applications.

Hospitals currently represent the largest end-user category, accounting for approximately 49% of the market in 2025. Hospitals benefit from centralized procurement budgets and the ability to use robotic platforms across multiple specialties, improving system utilization.

Ambulatory surgery centers are becoming increasingly important as more procedures migrate from inpatient hospitals to outpatient settings. Market Research Future projects this end-user category to expand at a 17.9% CAGR through 2035. Smaller robotic platforms designed specifically for outpatient operating rooms could further accelerate adoption.

Despite strong growth prospects, high upfront costs remain a major challenge. Robotic systems require substantial capital investment as well as ongoing maintenance, specialized instruments, training, and service contracts. Surgeon training and credentialing can also influence adoption rates.

Nevertheless, the long-term outlook remains positive. Increasing surgical volumes, demand for minimally invasive procedures, technological improvements, and expansion into outpatient settings are expected to create significant opportunities for robotic surgical technology manufacturers through 2035.
